MIAMI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, FLA. (WSVN) - Hurricane Matthew is causing some travel trouble throughout South Florida.

Airlines have been canceling flights to and from Jamaica, Cuba and Haiti

American Airlines is urging passengers to keep their eye on the storm and their website for updates on flights.

“Travelers need to be following the hurricane to see if their destination or their future travel is going to be impacted by it,” said American Airlines spokesperson Alexis Coello. “We are advising passengers to go to aa.com/travelalerts to see if your future travels are going to be impacted by the hurricane.”

American Airlines is offering full refunds to affected passengers or the ability to change their scheduled flights without an additional charge.

Several cruise lines are making changes as well.

Carnival, Norwegian and Royal Caribbean have adjusted their itineraries, choosing to skip ports of call in the danger zone.

Travelers are advised to check websites for updates on the status of their trip.
