HOLLYWOOD, FLA. (WSVN) - Hollywood Police hand-delivered all the necessities for a Thanksgiving meal to 12 underprivileged families, Wednesday.

The officers went door to door with boxes filled with turkey, pumpkin pies and all the trimmings.

“Any time they have that moment to give back a little more, they take that,” Miranda Grossman from Hollywood PD said, “so today means a lot to the recipients of the Thanksgiving meals, as well as the school resource officers.”

Lighthouse Community Church also chipped in to make the meals possible.

“At least, thank God, at least some people do think about other people, and if it wasn’t for them, I wouldn’t have a Thanksgiving,” Leeanabath Mercado said.

The deliveries are a Hollywood tradition.
