HIALEAH, FLA. (WSVN) - Two men who ransacked a residence in Hialeah, Monday, have been taken into police custody.

According to Hialeah PD, two male subjects who were allegedly armed with handguns, entered a home and threatened one of the residents, at around 3 p.m., Monday.

7’s Skyforce HD flew over the scene of the property as Miami-Dade County and Hialeah Police, as well as K-9 officers, inspected the area of the 500 block of East 52nd Street. They seemed to be looking for a weapon that was allegedly thrown into a neighbor’s backyard.

Those subjects struck a 76-year-old male resident in the head, according to police, and ransacked the home before fleeing on foot. The victim’s 20-year-old granddaughter was also confronted by the armed robbers.

Police eventually caught up with them at a nearby Taco Bell and recovered the firearms in question. Their charges are still unknown.

The home invasion remains under investigation.
