DANIA BEACH, FLA. (WSVN) - A fire broke out at the Florida Power and Light’s Fort Lauderdale Power Plant, Sunday night.
A 7News viewer sent cellphone video of the massive fire at the plant, located on Southwest 47th Court and 40th Street, in Dania Beach.
Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue crews rushed to the scene of the two-alarm fire. They remained at the scene late into the night as they worked to contain the flames.
An FPL spokesperson released a statement that read in part, “We are aware of the fire at our Fort Lauderdale Power Plant. This is not affecting any of our costumers, and we are working along with Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue.”
