FORT MYERS, Fla. (WSVN) – A 24-year-old fisherman almost ended up as bait after he found himself caught in the middle of shark feeding frenzy.

Steve Moon was using cut bait to lure redfish near Fort Myers, Wednesday, when the tables suddenly turned. Moon was surrounded by 10 sharks after being stranded.

“It was almost like a feeding frenzy,” said Moon. “I saw them on the corner of my eyes. Yeah, that’s a 7-foot shark.”

The 24-year-old’s quick thinking allowed him to use his iPhone’s emergency button to alert for help.

Rescue crews reportedly rushed to the scene to save the Southwest Florida man’s life.

Moon did not suffer any injuries.
