TALLAHASSEE, FLA. (WSVN) - Teachers and principals in Florida are set to receive a monetary bonus.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced that in an upcoming state budget, $1,000 bonuses have been allocated for teachers and principals.
The announcement came during two different press conferences, Wednesday.
DeSantis said the bonuses will go to nearly 175,000 educators for their work during the pandemic.
“We’re proud that we got the bonuses through,” DeSantis said. “We understand that it was a unique set of circumstances that many of our schools had to do.”
DeSantis said he expects to sign the budget in the coming days.
