TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Florida State University’s Board of Trustees on Friday received an update on the school’s Title IX policy and approved amendments to regulations dealing with violations due to sexual misconduct.

The university has increased its efforts in sexual assault awareness and prevention after a former student filed a Title IX lawsuit, saying the school failed to adequately investigate allegations that she was raped by former star quarterback Jameis Winston.

Florida State settled that lawsuit in January but remains under investigation by the Office of Civil Rights for the U.S. Department of Education. A detailed Title IX statement and more detailed policy on sexual misconduct and harassment is waiting to be signed by the school’s president, John Thrasher.

Florida State is one of four Florida universities or colleges that have pending Title IX sexual violence investigations.
