ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) — A baby was delivered in a Florida hospital from a woman who police say was shot and killed by her husband.
The Tampa Bay Times reports that 36-year-old Joi Nicole Spencer was seven months pregnant when she was fatally shot in her St. Petersburg home. Her baby was delivered at the same hospital where she was declared dead.
The baby was in critical condition after delivery. Kamion Kemarley Spencer called 911 to report the shooting and he was arrested several hours later.
Police charged him with manslaughter. He was being held in Pinellas County Jail on Saturday. Jail records didn’t list an attorney.
