CORAL SPRINGS, FLA. (WSVN) - A family is asking the public for help to find their beloved puppy after she was stolen from their Coral Springs home.

Sky was a gift to Katherine Martinez’s 6-year-old daughter. “Friendly — kids, dogs anything — she will just come and lick you to death,” Martinez said.

Martinez and her fiancé let Sky out onto the patio of their Ramblewood East apartment, on Northwest 90th Avenue early Thursday. “I go outside, there’s this big hole in my screen door, and she’s nowhere to be found,” Martinez said.

When she realized Sky was missing, Martinez was hopeful that she would find Sky outside. However, a neighbor told them that a woman driving a black car was holding a puppy that looked like Sky and said she was looking for the owners. That woman never returned.

Martinez just wants Sky back for herself and for her daughter. When asked what she was afraid of for Sky, Martinez — in tears — responded, “That they’re treating her wrong. That they just want her to breed or to sell her, and that’s not what we wanted for her. Please return my baby. I just want her back.”

If you have any information on Sky’s whereabouts, call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a $3,000 reward.
