MIAMI (WSVN) - The family of a woman who was fatally shot in Miami following a car crash is asking for help in identifying her killer.

Loved ones said they continue to grapple with Briana Paschal’s unsolved murder nearly six months later.

“It’s hard. That’s what I can say, it’s hard,” said Paschal’s aunt, Lynda Roberts, as she and other family members addressed reporters, Friday.

On Feb. 18, Paschal was on her way to work when she got into a crash in the area of Northwest Third Avenue and 14th Terrace.

Officials said Paschal, 27, was the passenger in the car, and when she got out of the car to check for damage, someone from the other car in the crash came up to her, fatally shot her in the back and fled on foot.

Surveillance video shows the victim in a white shirt as she got out of her vehicle, then went back inside.

A light-colored sedan is seen pulling up to Paschal’s car. Moments later, a man is seen opening fire, then taking off running.

Now her family is asking for answers from the community.

“It’s very difficult for our family to lose my niece the way that we lost her, to lose her at all. It’s hard,” said Roberts.

Loved ones described Paschal as an amazing person who loved art and had recently opened a new restaurant.

“Briana was a person who loved everyone. It didn’t matter who it was: homeless, rich, poor, anything,” said Roberts.

“Bri was that special person,” said Paschal’s cousin, William Clark. “She was that spark that energized the entire family, just like a battery to a car. Without it, the whole family is numb.”

As police continue their search for leads, Paschal’s family hopes their message helps bring the shooter to justice.

“Just help us. If you know anything, just come to the police department and give everything that you know,” said Roberts, “and maybe something will trigger to know exactly why this happened and who did it.”

If you have any information on this fatal shooting, call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a $3,000 reward.
