MIAMI (WSVN) - A dump truck carrying sand toppled over along the Julia Tuttle Causeway, causing a traffic mess, Tuesday afternoon.
The truck was traveling eastbound along the highway when it hit the median, losing control and ended in the westbound lanes. The truck turned over as a result, dumping sand along the westbound lanes.
Road Rangers and clean up crews worked diligently to remove the truck and clean up the spilled sand.
Traffic as of 5 p.m. is moving smoothly in both directions.
7’s Skyforce HD flew over the scene after the truck was turned upright, and as crews continued to clean up the sand, around 2 p.m., Tuesday.
Miami Beach Fire Rescue responded to the scene and treated the driver and the passenger of the dump truck. They were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital for minor injuries.
