ORLANDO, FLA. (WSVN) - The Walt Disney Company is heightening security at its theme parks in the wake of the mass shooting in Orlando, the home of Walt Disney World.
Disney says it has added K-9 units and extra law enforcement officers, along with less visible systems that employ state-of-the-art security technologies.
This is in wake of multiple reports that the shooter, Omar Mateen, scouted Walt Disney World as a potential target.
Guests’ bags will be searched and some will be selected for checks with a metal detector.
Disney installed metal detectors outside its Animal Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom parks last year.
