BRADENTON, Fla. (AP) — Authorities say a Florida woman tried to hire someone to get rid of her ex-husband, but she was content to have him kidnapped instead of simply killed.

The Bradenton Herald reports that 34-year-old Rachael Natalie Leahy was arrested Thursday and charged with solicitation of murder.

Arrest documents say Leahy spoke with a man she thought was a killer for hire but was actually an undercover deputy. An affidavit says she told the detective her husband could be kidnapped and taken to another country and made into a sex slave.

The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office says Leahy told the detective that she wanted her husband gone so she could have custody of their children. Leahy said she knew the sex slave idea wasn’t realistic and would leave it up to the detective to decide what do.

Leahy was being held without bond. Jail records didn’t list an attorney.
