LAUDERDALE-BY-THE-SEA, FLA. (WSVN) - Crews have contained fuel that was leaking from a vessel in a Lauderdale-by-the-Sea canal.
The incident happened in the area of 250 South Tradewinds Ave., Monday afternoon.
Monday afternoon HazMat 88 responded to Lauderdale By The Sea to assist with a vessel leaking fuel into the canal. FLFR, BSOFR, LBS Fire Rescue and Marine patrol worked together to isolating the affected areas utilizing booms to catch and absorb the sheens. Great job by all! pic.twitter.com/GE5gGe227l

A hazmat team, along with Broward Sheriff’s Fire Rescue and Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue crews, used booms to contain the spill and soak up the fuel.
