HIALEAH, FLA. (WSVN) - Family and friends are coming together in order to help a South Florida principal on his road to recovery.
The First Annual “Javi Perez Road to Recovery 5K Run and Walk” will take place June 5 at Amelia Earhart Park in Hialeah.
The South Dade High School Principal has been weaned off some antibiotics and is now breathing on his own.
The race is an effort to raise funds to cover the costly medical bills for Perez and his family, after he was run over by an SUV at Tamiami Park last month.
