MIAMI SHORES, FLA. (WSVN) - A family has lost their sense of security after a pair of unwelcome visitors made their way inside their Miami Shores home.

A doorbell surveillance video captured the duo on the front porch of the Miami Shores home moments before they broke into the house. Now, the homeowner, a mother of two, has been left shaken up knowing that she typically is at home at the time the burglary occurred.

The two young men rang the doorbell and waited a while on the porch, giving police a good look at their faces.

“At first, I wasn’t as scared as I was angered because they seemed content because they were smiling,” said homeowner Natalie Castro.

Castro works at home and has two small children, but when the two burglars came knocking she was at the store. “My son, I think we would have to move if they would have been here,” she said. “They wouldn’t be able to have peace because it’s quite startling when somebody comes in your home.”

She installed a video doorbell system that alerts her when there is motion at the door. “I called the police. I was crying. I was scared,” she said.

In an unconventional way of entry, the burglars took the entire door frame off its hinges before stepping inside the house. That’s when the alarm went off, and the men got away with nothing.

Miami Shores Police has released the surveillance video to the public, hoping someone can identify the pair and bring peace into Castro’s life. “And now, to even walk out the backyard, I’m going out the other door, so I can look around first,” Castro said.

If you have any information on this break-in, call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a $1,000 reward.
