HOLLYWOOD, Fla. (AP) — Police in South Florida are treating the deaths of a woman on the beach and a man in a nearby hotel as suspicious.
Hollywood Police Officer Christian Lata says the woman’s body was found early Wednesday. They found the man’s body hours later in a hotel just a short distance away.
Lata says the pair knew each other and the deaths are related, though he offered few specifics. He says the woman was middle-aged, but didn’t provide any details about the man.
Lata said authorities don’t believe the deaths were a “random act of violence.”
Homicide detectives are continuing an investigation.
