FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. (WSVN) - A South Florida pageant winner teamed up with a local animal shelter to put a playful twist on pet adoption.

Miss Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, Tiffany Coquis, hosted a pet pageant at the Abandoned Pet Rescue shelter in Fort Lauderdale, giving several cats and dogs a moment in the spotlight and a chance to find a forever home.

“It’s so great to see that they truly love and nurture the animals that they have here, and it’s truly an amazing thing that they’re doing, especially since they are one of the only no-kill animal shelters in South Florida,” Coquis said.

The fun-filled event featured categories like “Best Glow-Up,” “Most Photogenic,” “Miss Canine,” and “Miss Feline,” with shelter pets strutting their stuff in hopes of winning more than just a title.
