HALLANDALE BEACH, FLA. (WSVN) - A South Florida school came together to give hope for healing to a young student.

Gulfstream Academy in Hallandale Beach held a parade on Tuesday for a young boy suffering from cancer.

Nathaniel was diagnosed with stage four osteosarcoma in his leg, earlier in 2022.

The school’s autism coach described how everyone is encouraging him by using his favorite video game character.

“We thought, in order to give him some great encouragement, give him a day, that we were gonna wear blue, do Sonic. We made shirts for him on our Sonic theme. This is his drawing that he did that we turned into a shirt,” said Shannon Connelly, a Gulfstream Academy autism coach.

Nathanial’s mother said he will soon go through more surgeries for his lungs.
