NEAR FORT LAUDERDALE (WSVN) — Distraught family members are asking for answers and fearing the worst days after their loved one, a city employee with deep ties to the community, went missing near Fort Lauderdale.

The family of Mimose Dulcio told 7News that she last heard from early Friday morning.

“Time is of the essence. Too much time has passed by right now,” said Seminta Dulcio, Mimose’s sister.

Mimose’s family is filled with worry.

“We need my daughter back home,” said Nevile Dulcio, her father.

Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives said they’re treating the disappearance of the 39-year-old, nicknamed “Mimi” by loved ones, as a missing person case.

Investigators said Mimose was last seen at her home, located off Northwest 30th Avenue, in unincorporated Broward County.

Mimose’s family said the details are simply not adding up.

On Monday morning, she missed work, and her brother, Enel Dulcio, said she would not miss work.

“She’s not the type to disappear or vanish without a trace with her pets, her family here,” said Enel. “Something is really wrong.”

Caline, the missing woman’s sister, is also worried about her whereabouts.

“This girl would not leave her home,” she said. “Especially, knowing the fact that she sacrificed for that home. For her to be missing for this long, that’s not her.”

Seminta said she dropped off Mimose at work just before 6 p.m. before she went missing.

“When I noticed that she wasn’t home, and she’s not responding to my text messages, my phone calls, there’s a problem, there’s a problem,” Seminta said.

Neighbor Ruben Bell said his wife chatted with Mimose on Thursday.

“She was talking to my wife. She said, ‘Make sure you make Mr. Bell work hard,’ and that’s all,” he said.

“Friday morning, a good friend spoke to her until 12:25 in the morning. Haven’t heard from her since,” Seminta said.

Search efforts continued over the weekend when deputies canvassed the area around her house and surrounded the home with crime scene tape.

Loved ones said something does not seem right with the situation, and concerns grow with each passing moment.

“I spoke to her; she wasn’t going anywhere, so I know that she was home,” said Seminta. “It’s scary right now. The clock is ticking to find Mimose. The question is, where’s Mimose?”

A spokesperson for the City of Fort Lauderdale confirmed Mimose is a city employee.

One of Mimose’s sisters said she worked as an administrative assistant.

According to some sources, Mimose lived in her current home with her husband as they finalized their divorce, which one of her sisters described as messy; she has not heard from the ex-husband or knows his whereabouts. It is unclear where he stands in the investigation.

Mimose’s sister said both of her cellphones were found inside the home.

“That’s not like her to leave devices, because what she’s going through, her phones go with her everywhere that she goes,” Seminta said.

Late Monday night, 7News cameras captured BSO investigators back at the home. A crime scene technician was seen bringing a brown paper bag out of the house.

Mimose’s family is pleading anyone with information to come forward.

If you have any information on Mimose Dulcio’s whereabouts, call BSO at 954-764-4357 or Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
