NORTH LAUDERDALE, FLA. (WSVN) - A teen is recovering in the hospital after gunfire rang out in a Margate neighborhood.
A 15-year-old, who has not been identified, was shot during an apparent incident involving other teenagers Monday night.
The victim or some of the people involved crossed the line into North Lauderdale, where police made contact with them.
Investigators were seen surrounding car at the intersection of Rock Island Road and Forest Boulevard.
The teen was rushed to Broward Health Medical Center where they underwent surgery and is expected to be OK.
Margate Police is lead agency on this investigation as they believe the incident originated in that city.
The circumstances that led to the shooting remain unknown and an investigation is now underway.
