FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP/WSVN) — Professional boxer Gervonta Davis has been jailed in Broward County after he struck a woman in the face, authorities said.

7News cameras captured Davis after he walked out of the Broward County Jail, Wednesday afternoon.

“Nothing to say, guys,” he said.

An arrest report obtained by The Associated Press said Davis hit the woman with a “closed hand type slap” at a home in Parkland, Florida, on Tuesday, causing a small abrasion to the inside of her upper lip.

A 911 call first obtained by TMZ captured the unnamed victim pleading for help.

“I’m trying to go home. I have my baby in the car; he attacked me,” she is heard telling the dispatcher.

Davis, an undefeated lightweight champion nicknamed “Tank,” was arrested by Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies at his Parkland home.

The 28-year-old faces a domestic violence charge of battery causing bodily harm, according to criminal records and a jail official.

7SkyForce hovered above Davis after he returned home from jail. BSO deputies were seen following him inside the residence.

Davis is no stranger to fights outside the ring. He was arrested for battery for allegedly putting his hands around a woman’s neck on the University of Miami campus in 2020. The charges were dropped earlier this month.

Court records did not specify an attorney for Davis.

At his bond hearing, he was ordered to have no contact with the victim.

Davis is scheduled to headline a boxing event on Jan. 7 in Washington, D.C.
