HALLANDALE BEACH, FLA. (WSVN) - Hallandale Beach Police is investigating a shooting sparked by road rage on Hallandale Beach Boulevard that is possibly connected to another shooting on Interstate 95 that sent one person to the hospital.

The shooting took place on the right shoulder in the westbound lanes of Hallandale Beach Boulevard just before I-95, Friday morning.

Cellphone video captured the moments after the shots were fired. The video shows cars that collided with each other as a result.

Officers believe the shooting stemmed from a road rage situation.

Although, witnesses said, the gunman had jumped out of a U-Haul truck, fired several shots and stole a car before taking off from the scene.

Several others suffered minor injuries as a result of the crash.

Westbound traffic on Hallandale Beach Boulevard and Northwest 10th Terrace was closed for several hours due to the investigation and having the vehicles towed away but has since reopened.

A short time later, someone suffered a gunshot wound along I-95.

According to Hallandale Beach Police, the male victim was transported to Aventura Hospital with a gunshot wound to the arm.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue also responded to the scene with the victim, as well as Florida Highway Patrol troopers.

7Skyforce hovered over the scene and captured several vehicles on the shoulder with damage that appeared to be related to a traffic crash and then captured the victim arriving to the hospital.

It remains unclear whether the victim is somehow connected to the shooting in Hallandale Beach Boulevard.

The investigation is still on going.
