The Broward Sheriff’s Office held a free ice cream social for children, Saturday, in order to connect children in the community with local firefighters and deputies.

It was the first of a series of ice cream socials BSO has planned for the summer, where children can get a free McDonald’s ice cream while they meet local firefighters and deputies. The kids were also able to paint an out-of-commission BSO fire truck and take photos in a Chevrolet Camaro. Ronald McDonald also entertained with a juggling show.

Sheriff Scott Israel and BSO deputies hosted the event at the McDonald’s on Deerfield Beach.
