FORT MYERS, Fla. (WSVN) — A Florida man spoke out about his last conversation with his brother before he and his children went missing at sea.

Joe Kimberly said he last spoke with his brother, Ace Kimberly, over the phone, last Sunday afternoon, after the 45-year-old set sail with his three teenage children from Sarasota on their way to Fort Myers.

Joe said the family was already sailing through six-foot swells but didn’t seem to be in any danger. “There was nothing, because if I would have speculated that there was any kind of trouble, I would have been the first person out of anybody to call,” he said.

Joe called the U.S. Coast Guard on Tuesday to report them missing. A six day search was suspended this weekend after crews recovered the bodies of Ace and his daughter Rebecca.

Officials are still trying to figure out what went wrong.
