BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) — The Boynton Beach Police Department is now the first police department in Florida to hire a therapy dog.
Boynton Beach PD have hired Harley, a 3-year-old Beagle mix, as a therapy dog for their police department. She was trained at the Paws & Stripes College at the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.
Harley’s new partner is Detective Astrel Labbe, a 14-year veteran who specializes in investigations of crimes against children and the elderly.
Harley and Labbe will be in training for the next week.
“For children, I can’t imagine how Harley will not be a huge hit and help in really traumatic, difficult situations,” said Nancy McBride of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Harley looks like one happy dog 🙂
