MARGATE, FLA. (WSVN) - A 6-year-old boy is recovering at the hospital after, officials said, he was pulled unresponsive from a pool in Margate, Saturday afternoon.

Officials responded to the scene of the near drowning at the Calypso Cove Aquatic Facility at 6200 Royal Palm Blvd., at around 1:15 p.m. A teenage bystander removed the boy from the three-foot-deep section of the pool and alerted lifeguards on duty, who then performed life-saving techniques.

The boy was transferred to Northwest Medical Center and is expected to be OK.
