NEAR FORT MYERS, Fla. (WSVN) — A rare wildlife encounter was caught on camera in Southwest Florida.
A video shot by a visitor at the Six Mile Cypress Preserve in Lee County shows what appears to be a full grown bobcat climbing onto the boardwalk.
The feline is shown beginning to walk toward the woman recording the video before reconsidering and leaping off the wood handrail, back into the cypress trees.
Wildlife officials say bobcats are common around the state, but are rarely seen in public.
