POMPANO BEACH, FLA. (WSVN) - A bicyclist was killed in Pompano Beach after, authorities said, he was struck by a driver who fled the scene, early Saturday morning.

According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, the unidentified victim was riding his bike along the 800 block of Southwest Third Street, just before 1 a.m. He was crossing the Interstate 95 overpass when he was struck from behind.

Detectives are asking for help finding the driver of a Dodge Avenger which is badly damaged.

Investigators are withholding the victim’s name as they attempt to notify family members who live outside the United States.
