ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — A bald eagle that was rescued from a storm drain in central Florida has died from complications from her injuries.

The Audubon Center for Birds of Prey said on its Facebook page that the eagle died Monday night at a veterinary hospital.

The eagle had been getting treatment from specialists after she was rescued last week from a storm drain where she had gotten stuck with another eagle.

The other eagle managed to fly away.

The second bird was eventually freed, but was badly injured.

Audubon officials say the bird had fluid around her heart or air in her abdomen, indicating other injuries.
