APOPKA, Fla. (AP) — A 1-year-old has died after authorities say the child’s father accidentally ran over him with a vehicle at a home in Apopka.
Media outlets report the incident happened Monday morning.
The Florida Highway Patrol says the boy’s father, Jorge Carrillo was rotating cars in and out of the driveway of the home when he rolled on top of the child.
Highway patrol spokesman Steve Montiero says Carrillo was in a pickup truck at the time and did not see the child.
The child was taken to a hospital, where he died.
Montiero says there’ll be no criminal charges against Carrillo, but traffic charges are pending.
