ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Police have arrested a man following a standoff at an Orlando town house.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers tell news outlets that authorities arrested 30-year-old Leonard Jerome White Saturday night.
Authorities say the incident began after White carjacked a woman at gunpoint Saturday afternoon. He then led officers on a chase before breaking into the occupied town house. Trooper Steven Montiero says a SWAT team rescued two people inside the house while White was still inside.
The standoff lasted nearly five hours. Authorities say no one was hurt in the incident.
The charges against White were not immediately released. It’s unclear if he has an attorney.
