MIAMI GARDENS, FLA. (WSVN) - Miami Gardens Police detectives are investigating a robbery that led one person to be fatally shot in Miami Gardens.

According to Miami Gardens officials, the 22-year-old victim, Jean Cenat arranged to meet a woman, who was later identified as suspect Shuneice Thomas after communicating through social media.

A couple that was walking in Vista Verde Park, early Monday morning, said they discovered the victim lying in the grass with multiple gunshot wounds and contacted police. Both Miami Gardens Police and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue arrived on the scene. Cenat was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said another subject, Steven Daniels, then tried to use the victim’s keys to enter his vehicle. Daniels then fled in the vehicle after he realized police were driving in his direction. He eventually fled on foot after trying to ram the victim’s vehicle into the police cruiser.

Officials said Thomas admitted to luring the victim so Daniels could rob him.

Both Thomas and Daniels have been taken into police custody. Thomas is being charged with second degree felony murder and armed robbery. Daniels is being charged with resisting an officer without violence, fleeing and eluding a police officer, aggravated assault on a police officer and bench warrant for petit theft.

Police are still looking for one other suspect, who they identified as Shelton Evans.
