MIAMI (WSVN) - POMPANO BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) — An abandoned cargo ship is set to sink this summer off the shore of Pompano Beach.

“Lady Luck,” the 324-foot ship currently docked in the Miami River, will serve as a natural marine habitat and diving experience.

The ship’s many staterooms and crevices will make exploring the ship a treat for both divers and fish, according to officials.

Crews are currently working to clean and prepare “Lady Luck” for her sinking.

The ship is expected to go underwater for good on July 23, at 2 p.m.
