CORAL SPRINGS, FLA. (WSVN) - A stranger is stepping up to give a South Florida family a generous gift after, they said, someone snatched their dog from their porch.

The Coral Springs family was left heartbroken after their dog went missing. Lamont Wilson saw their story on 7News and decided to bring the family a special delivery.

Katherine Martinez’s 4-month-old blue-eyed pit bull Sky was gone minutes from their patio, early Thursday. “I go outside, there’s this big hole in the screen door. She’s nowhere to be found,” Martinez said.

Days after their family dog went missing, Wilson and his daughter came forward with a treat for them. “The puppy looks just like the one that was stolen, so we figured, ‘Hey, let’s make her happy and give her a new puppy,'” he said.

Wilson’s daughter was happy to make the gesture. “She’s happy to be doing it,” Wilson said. “It’s her first good deed and hopefully more will follow.”

Martinez was all smiles as she held her new puppy. “It’s something amazing. You don’t expect it. It’s something blessed,” she said. “I have no words. I really have no words to say but thank you.”

A neighbor saw a woman driving a black Kia and put a dog, who looked like Sky, inside. Sky does not have a microchip, but Martinez hopes she comes home.

If you have any information on Sky’s whereabouts, call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a $3,000 reward.
