MIAMI (WSVN) - Cirque Éloize acrobats will be gracing the stage of the Adrienne Arsht Center, and 7News got a behind-the-scenes look before the premiere.

Cirque Éloize’s Cirkopolis takes viewers on a fantastical journey that defies reality.

Step into the world of Cirkopolis to find beauty, mystery and make-believe. “We’ve just arrived from Montreal, and the show was created by Cirque Éloize. It was created in 2012,” said circus performer Joel David Baker.

AileyCamp students from South Florida got a sneak peek of the award-winning show at the Adrienne Arsht Center just before opening night, Thursday.

“I thought it took a lot of athleticism to do the stunts out there, and I saw a lot of dancing,” said student Daniel Dailey. “I just thought it was all around great.”

The show combines theater, circus and dance. “The show is about a person who wants to escape everyday life,” said acrobat Emily Fournier.

And he does — by way of a circus. His story plays out through different acts. “We have a lot of sentimental numbers, and we have a lot of intense numbers, a show that has a lot of emotion,” said trapeze performer Marilou Verschelden.

Fournier said that she can relate to the main character. “It’s pretty much how I feel too when I do this show,” she said. “I feel like I’m escaping my city, and I am going on tour, and I’m having fun, and I think the show is beautiful.”

The cast said the only requirement is to come ready to be entertained and awe-inspired.

The gravity-defying show will run at the Arsht Center through July 31.
