NORTH MIAMI BEACH, FLA. (WSVN) - A South Florida business owner is reeling after, he said, two men stole four laptops from his warehouse, Tuesday morning.

Adam Klein, the president of North Miami Beach-based AM Productions, said the theft took place just before noon at his warehouse, located at 15421 West Dixie Highway. “Damn, I just got robbed. That sucks,” he said.

Klein said his workers were doing “spring cleaning,” a task they perform every few months. He said the employees were busy, giving the two subjects the opportunity to pull off the theft.

At around 11:30 a.m., surveillance cameras captured one person on the lookout as the other headed inside. “[He] crept really close to the bay door, ends up coming through the door, peeks in,” said Klein.

The perpetrator is seen checking to see if the coast is clear, peeking out another door and then tiptoeing back inside.

Once inside an office, Klein said, it took seconds for the thief to swipe his computers. “Checks the desk, grabs two backpacks that are filled with laptops from previous events over the weekend, just grabs them,” he said, “and within one minute, he was out the door.”

Moments later, the subjects are seen reflected on a glass basketball backboard as the pair made their getaway with the equipment, which was valued at about $5,000.

Klein said the duo took an escape route filled with security cameras. Other businesses in the area are searching through surveillance, and so far one has captured a clear picture of the car believed to be involved, a light, older model car with a vinyl top.

“We know what they look like … I’ve already spoke to about five or six people in my complex who all have video cameras, and we’re all going on a search to find them,” said Klein, “because we’re like a big family here. Once you’re involved and you know everybody, we all want to help out each other.”

A local entrepreneur believes one of the alleged thieves has targeted his business on prior occasions. The owner of Clutch City Creative in Opa-locka saw this story when it first aired on 7News and said the man caught on camera as the lookout in Tuesday’s theft looked familiar. Employees said that man is the same person who robbed their old warehouse in May 2014.

They said security cameras captured him casing their new spot twice in January. The footage shows the subject lurking around and even arriving in a similar older model car with a vinyl top.

Klein said he will saturate social media with images of the thieves and their vehicle. “We’re gonna post videos on Facebook, Instagram,” he said.

The business owner believes, one way or another, these men will pay for the crime. “Life’s a bitch, dude, and you will be caught,” he said, “and when it happens to you, you are going to feel the way we feel. It’s coming around, buddy. Karma sucks.”

AM Productions specializes in planning, lighting and providing props for corporate events and celebrations.

If you have any information on the subjects’ whereabouts, call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a $1,000 reward.
