3 men caught on camera smashing into NW Miami-Dade beauty supply store

NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, FLA. (WSVN) - Police are looking for three men caught on surveillance video breaking into a beauty supplies store in Northwest Miami-Dade.

The owner of the Beauty Exchange Beauty Supply that was robbed believes these three crooks targeted another beauty store, looking for Brazilian hair.

The crime happened early Tuesday morning, at the beauty supply store along Northwest 10th Avenue.

Surveillance cameras captured three guys as they drove on to the scene and then walked to the back of the building. One appears to be on the phone keeping a look out, while the other two try to smash through the walls with sledge hammers.

At times, they even sat down in a effort to conceal themselves from those passing by.

“They just took the one they know costs more,” said store manager Rabee Hamad. “I have cheaper hair in the back room, but they took that box, so they know. I know they know.”

The three men were able to get into the back room of the store, but Hamad said he thinks the alarm may have scared them off.

The crooks got away with one box of hair, valued at nearly $2,000. “If you steal something here, you have to go to jail,” said customer Constance Dumas. “Just come and buy. Pay your money and get your receipt.”

Hamad said he thinks he’s seen the same three men before after another store under the same ownership was robbed, two days earlier. That robbery was also caught on camera. “Same way they break in the wall and get into the store, and all they took was just hair,” he said. “They don’t even look for nothing else. They get into the store, they grab as much as they can, the hair and they left. The same way they break the store here, the same way they break the other store.”

The crooks stuffed packages of Brazilian hair through the hole in the wall and fled. According to store employees, the hair can cost up to $120 each. The thieves also took a cash register.

Both stores have patched up the damage and are open for business.
