NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, FLA. (WSVN) - Authorities are searching for two gunmen who, they said, opened fire on Miami-Dade Police officers when they tried to pull them over in connection to an armed carjacking.

According to investigators, the officers tried to pull over a Dodge Charger that was taken in the carjacking, early Saturday, but the men inside the car pulled out guns and started shooting.

A police cruiser was struck with several rounds, but no officers were hurt.

The law enforcers fired back, but police said the shooters fled on foot. A perimeter was set up in the area of Northwest 54th Street and 24th Avenue, but no arrests were made.

If you have any information on the subjects’ whereabouts, call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a $1,000 reward.
