NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, FLA. (WSVN) - A South Florida driver and a passenger were taken to the hospital after, police said, their car crashed into a gas station in Northwest Miami-Dade, Sunday night.

The out-of-control SUV smashed into a gas pump and landed upside down at the Valero station near Northwest 27th Avenue and 112th Street.

One witness said the crash sparked a fire and chaos among spectators. “I saw the car flipped on the top, the gas pump was on fire, people were screaming ‘help’ and all of that,” said George Allen.

Authorities said both victims were transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital and are expected to be OK.

Once the fire was out, crews towed away the wrecked vehicle.
