MIAMI SPRINGS, FLA. (WSVN) - Two men are behind bars after a chase ended in a police-involved shooting in Miami Springs, Wednesday afternoon.

According to Hialeah Police, two of their undercover detectives were conducting a surveillance of two men suspected of burglary. They followed the subjects to Miami Springs where, detectives said, the men broke into a home on the 1200 block of Partridge Avenue.

As the subjects started to drive away, police said, the detectives attempted to stop their vehicle, but the subjects refused and almost ran over one of the law enforcers, who was standing outside his police vehicle. The detective then opened fire, striking both subjects, but they still managed to drive away.

However, investigators said, they didn’t get very far. A 7News viewer captured both men being apprehended a few miles away, in Virginia Gardens.

Though they were hospitalized, the subjects’ injuries were not life-threatening. No one else was hurt.

Thursday afternoon, one of the subjects, identified as 22-year-old Francisco Guerra, appeared in bond court, but his hearing was postponed until Friday.
