SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLA. (WSVN) - A young man trying to sell a cellphone ended up in the hospital after an altercation with the would-be buyers.

The victim, in his 20s, is now in the intensive care unit at the hospital, Wednesday. Sunny Isles Beach Police took pictures of the victim’s bruises and scars.

The victim tried to sell a cellphone online and met up with the potential buyers. “One of the offenders grabbed the phone, snatched it from him, at that time, the victim tried to get the phone back,” said Sunny Isles Beach Police Detective Mitch Glansberg.

Police said if you’re planning to sell something online, meet the buyer in a public area, like a police station.

According to police, the victim tried to grab the phone and grabbed on to the passenger’s shirt. The door was reportedly halfway open and police said the victim was dragged several blocks. “Suffered some serious bodily injuries as a result,” Glansberg said.

Sunny Isles Beach officials worked day and night to solve the case. “It was priority one,” Glansberg said. “The victim’s injuries were real serious.”

Glansberg confirmed that they made two arrests in this case — 17-year-old Angela Alidor and 17-year-old Joshua Bryant.

7News was on the scene Wednesday as Bryant was taken to jail. When asked if the victim was dragged several blocks during the encounter, Bryant continued to smile and said, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“It’s a serious matter. These injuries could be with this victim for life,” Glansberg said. “This road rash is real severe. Three, four days in intensive care, on pain meds. He’s gonna have scarring and this will last him for the rest of his life.”

The victim is still in a massive amount of pain, but was able to speak with 7News via phone and said he is still traumatized from the ordeal.
