KEY WEST, FLA. (WSVN) - A group of migrants were saved at sea off the coast of Key West, Friday.

The crew of the Carnival Sensation came upon a small vessel with 19 people on board. In statement issued on Saturday, a Carnival spokesperson wrote that the boaters were “presumed to be Cuban migrants.”

A video posted on YouTube captured the scene, as the cruise liner’s crew tethered the vessel to their ship and offered the group food and water.

Eventually the U.S. Coast Guard responded with a cutter and took the migrants in for processing.

“Once USCG was on scene, we were released to proceed back to Miami where the ship arrived [Saturday] morning slightly behind schedule,” said the Carnival spokesperson.
