PALM BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) — A new case of non-travel related Zika has been diagnosed in Palm Beach County, after the person recently visit Miami-Dade County.

According to the Florida Department of Health (DOH), officials are investigating to determine the source of infection.

DOH has been going door-to-door sampling the surrounding area, where mosquito reduction activities are also taking place.

While this new case was found in a person living in Palm Beach County, DOH still believes active transmissions of the virus are only taking place in the Wynwood neighborhood of Miami.

This 17th case of locally transmitted Zika will be discussed in further detail at a round-table discussion, Monday, held by Gov. Rick Scott, in St. Johns County.
