FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. (WSVN) - Police are investigating after five cars were stolen from a car dealership in Fort Lauderdale.
According to officials, some of the cars that were taken from the local dealership include a red Audi A4 ,a black Lexus IS, silver Infinity, Nissan Altima and a black Mercedes CLS. It happened at Premium Cars dealership off of Davie Boulevard and 441.
Early Monday morning, the thieves drove an Infiniti right through the chain-link fence, which was found down Davie Boulevard, said police.
“They used one of the cars, the Infiniti, to break down the front fence, left it on the street, and they took five cars,” said business owner Igor Gusav.
First, two teenagers are seen on the security footage, around 3 a.m., crouching behind a car. Then they jump the fence and are joined by three other teenage accomplices.
At around 3:15 a.m., they’re seen breaking glass to gain entry to the office, where they stole keys for the cars.
Gusav told 7News that the thieves shutdown the power in order to disable the alarm system.
In the car lot, the crooks tried different keys to find out what cars they scored.
“This is the second time this happen to us in the last two months,” said Gusav. “The same story happened a month ago. Two juveniles, they broke the window, got inside and stole two keys, and they got two cars.”
Police recovered three of the vehicles with the help of OnStar, which was installed in all of the stolen vehicles.
Now, Gusav has to repair the broken fence, re-key many of the cars on the lot and hope that the two missing cars are found.
“This keeps happening. It happens in this area,” Gusav said.
Three neighboring business owners said they have been hit by car thieves in recent months, as well. It’s unclear whether the same group
“It’s something that’s not going to stop,” Camilo Macedo, owner of Apple Auto Wholesalers, said.
Macedo said the same crew hit his lot, early Monday morning.
“So I think they got spooked out from my place, and they came over here and stole,” Macedo said.
“They came back, and I want them to stop because we’re afraid. Everyone’s afraid they’re not going to stop,” Gusav said.
A red Audi A4 and a black Lexus IS remain missing.
