1 killed, 2 injured in shooting at Fort Lauderdale-area apartment

NEAR FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (WSVN) — One man was killed and a man and woman were injured after, authorities said, they were shot in an apartment in unincorporated Broward County, Saturday afternoon.

Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the scene of the shooting along the 700 block of Harris Terrace. Investigators said they received a call of shots fired at around 2:10 p.m.

Deputies found three people who had sustained gunshot injuries. One man was pronounced dead at the scene. He was later identified as 40-year-old Vincent Holloman.

Paramedics transported the other two victims to Broward Health Medical Center. One of them is listed in serious condition and the other sustained injuries that were not life-threatening.

Graphic cellphone video of the scene has since been posted to Facebook.

Holloman’s loved ones were left stunned after hearing about the shooting. “I’m in shock because that’s, like, my godbrother,” said one relative. “He don’t bother nobody. He’s very quiet. He has his children. He takes care of his children. He’s always with his mom. He’s a nice guy.”

Detectives believe multiple subjects fled on foot and may have left in a vehicle.

The investigation is ongoing.
