MIAMI (WSVN) - A man was killed and another was taken to the hospital after, police said, they were shot in Miami’s Overtown neighborhood, Thursday night.

City of Miami Police responded to the scene of the shooting at Reeves Park, located at 600 N.W. 10th St.

According to investigators, officers heard shots fired in the area of Northwest Fifth Avenue and 10th Street, at around 9:15 p.m. Police also received multiple calls of shots fired in the area.

Responding officers found a man dead at the scene and another with very serious injuries.

Paramedics transported the latter victim to Ryder Trauma Center in unknown condition.

Police shut down Northwest Fifth Avenue between Seventh and 10th Streets while they continue to investigate.

A heavy police presence remained near the park at 11 p.m.
