NEW YORK (WSVN) — A major U.S. airline has begun taking off to Cuba.

JetBlue is rolling out weekly charter flights between New York's JFK Airport and Havana. Passengers will be able to travel to and from both countries every Friday.

The inaugural flight comes just days after President Barack Obama confirmed embassies would soon reopen in both Cuba and the U.S.

MSC Cruises also announced that it will sail Caribbean cruises from Cuba beginning in December. The MSC Opera will be docked in Havana and will take passengers to destinations in Jamaica, the Cayman Islands and Mexico.
