NASHVILLE, Ill. (AP) — Three members of a southern Illinois family killed in a Kentucky plane crash that a 7-year-old girl survived were remembered during a private funeral.

Friday’s services at a church in Nashville, Illinois, for Marty Gutzler, wife Kim Gutzler and their 9-year-old daughter, Piper, came seven days after the Gutzlers’ small plane crashed while they were returning from a Florida vacation.

Another relative, 14-year-old Sierra Wilder, also was killed. Her funeral was Wednesday in Nashville, a small town about 50 miles east of St. Louis.

The Gutzlers’ other daughter, Sailor, survived the crash and managed to trek a mile for help.

Visitation for the Gutzlers was held Thursday in a Nashville middle-school gymnasium and drew hundreds of mourners.

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating what caused the crash.
