LAS VEGAS (WSVN) — The highest grossing movie of all time, Avatar, is getting four more films.
Director James Cameron announced the news at the CinemaCon convention in Las Vegas on Thursday, according to the Wall Street Journal.
“We’re making four epic films, each one of which stands alone but together form a complete saga,” Cameron said.
Cameron said he plans on releasing the latest film Christmas of 2018, followed by sequels in 2020, 2022 and 2023.
Avatar grossed 2.79 billion worldwide during its release in 2009.
